As a student project for Springboard.com, I created a fictitious application called “Fyreteam”. Fyreteam is a companion application designed to help bring players of Destiny 2 together with helpful and intuitive features to improve their experience, in and out of the game.
For this project many steps took place, including primary and secondary research, preliminary interviews with my target audience, developing personas to help better understand pain points with potential users, creating a style guide, wire frames, user flows and finally, a complete working prototype of the application itself.
For new players, some of Destiny 2’s social features can be difficult to grasp. For veteran players, it has simply become a point of contention. Through my research process, I aimed to confirm these issues with new and veteran players alike by conducting secondary research, such as conducting heuristic evaluations of the competitors in this space, as well as primary research by conducting informational interviews with my target audience and conducting a Google Survey to better grasp some of the data.
There were a few key questions I hoped to answer before conducting my research, including:
